Grove Creek Dental is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML structure with a single clear heading hierarchy on every page.
- A skip-to-main-content link at the top of each page for keyboard and screen reader users.
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Text and background color combinations tested to meet AA contrast ratios.
- Form fields with properly associated labels.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and expandable sections.
- Support for the reduced motion preference, so animation is disabled when a visitor asks for it.
- Responsive layouts that work when text is enlarged or the window is narrow.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review new pages and content as they are published, and we correct issues as we find them. Some older content migrated from our previous website may not yet fully meet our standard, and we are working through it.
Third-party content
Our appointment request form is processed by an outside company. We do not control the accessibility of that service, but if it creates a barrier for you, call the office and we will book your appointment over the phone instead.
